Owl and Moon

I still have doubts if I should have added a few drops of milk shooting out of the udders, but this is how I presented the final project of my course with fineliners.
A German gentleman has asked me what do I mean, what do I want to express with the drawing (hello German gentleman). For me it has several readings but I drew it following the thread of "chase your dreams", like the flying pig ...
However, I want to clarify that the full name of the course is: Surrealistic illustration with Fineliners. That is, most of the drawings do not have any meaning, but what each one wants to. I think that with surrealism the important thing is the feeling that the image awakens in each one when we observe it.

Owl and Moon
A drum hedgehog popping a sachet of ketchup

This hedgehog is a clear example of surreal drawing. Both this drawing and the rabbit below respond to the following instructions: combine an animal with a musical instrument and imagine what they would do if they were in your house.

Owl and Moon
Fiddle bunny wants toothpaste / carrot

The course is over and I don't really know where to go now. Any suggestion?

Owl & Moon

This drawing answers the challenge: Design a spy suit for a fish. I think my ambition got the better of me by opting for the complexity of a chameleon. I admit it, I like to start the house with the roof ... Still, not bad, right?

The course that Redmer Hoekstra teaches at Domestika begins by inviting you to draw snails, lots of snails! but what characterizes Redmer is his taste for combining animals with objects, fruits or whatever! And that's why, after the snails, he begins to propose challenges: to combine an animal with what she eats, to combine an animal with a musical instrument ...

Owl & Moon
Banana gorila, Gecko grasshopper y Penguin fish

These three little monsters above correspond to the challenge: match three animals with what they eat. The gorilla looks very funny to me because of how absurd it is. Actually, they are miniatures that do not exceed 10 centimeters each and they have been a great challenge for me.

What is your favorite?

Owl & Moon

I have started a new adventure. I'm going to confess it here and now, I'm going to announce publicly my great love:

I love ink. I have always loved it and will always do.

I am not bored with pastels but my great aspiration is to draw with ink. I recently discovered that one of the artists that I admire the most, Redmer Hoeskstra, teaches an ink course, so I will not be drawing with colors for a while 😅

Owl & Moon
I have done this tremendous botch before the course.

I have already started the course and I love it. The results are terrible but I'm really enjoying it, that's what it's all about. Soon I will upload some of the challenges that the teacher proposes ...
